He hadn't meant to go wandering away from where he and Snow were setting up camp. Since Snow had offered to gather the firewood, he had (reluctantly) decided to stay back. But when she'd come back with word of Regina's spies searching for them, he'd gladly picked up and ran off with her before they could be caught.
The problem was, it wasn't actually his Snow. He should've known better, he should've known something was off, but his mind had been too far clouded by magic and she'd played the part so well. The thing that looked like Snow, whatever it was, was far too eager to distract him once they'd gotten far enough away. With its seductive magic, he'd barely noticed his clothes being removed one by one - he'd wanted Snow to remove them, to want what was underneath them. But not like this.
James was currently sitting in a tree in only his cape and trousers, as the wicked magical thing (who still looked far too much like Snow for his liking) tried to murmur sweet nothings at him to lure him down. He hoped that the real Snow would find him soon enough.]
